I remember in México there was this "2YK Commission" (i found this english <ref>http://www.laweekly.com/arts/mexico-and-y2k-2131454</ref>) and nothing really happened, but still this leap was used as nationalistic narrative of progress and proof of how the country had joined the digital age. Hillarious. So this made me thing too about this excelent paper on the poetics of infrastructure <ref> Brian Larkin: The Politics and Poetics of Infrastructure http://www.annualreviews.org/doi/abs/10.1146/annurev-anthro-092412-155522 </ref>

I also thought in one of my favorite books Dark Tongues. <ref> http://www.zonebooks.org/titles/HELL_DAR.html</ref> and what this weird words like "Cherry Coke" say about our present moment and the apocalyptic fantasies that produce. Searching about hte topic i found this very appaling post <ref>http://www.laphamsquarterly.org/disaster/shock-and-awe</ref> but that i consider relevant and historicizes a bit the spectacle of "neverending times":
